Mangalore, Mar 5: Newly appointed SP of Dakshina Kannada Dr Sharanappa Shivanand Dhage assumed his office on March 5, Wednesday and said that he will work to give primary importance to maintain communal harmony and try to tackle the menace of Naxal.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that as soon as the LS elections are announced, the election code of conduct has come into force and he would render his maximum effort to ensure that the elections are held in a free manner.
SP Dhage said that there is need to build friendly relationships between police and public and he would make use of modern technology to crack criminal cases.
He assured to continue the good works done by his predecessor Shanthanu Sinha and would take his decisions without yielding to political pressure.
