DRI officials arrest passenger smuggling currencies worth Rs 13.39 lakhs at Airport

Mangalore, Feb 28: City unit officials of directorate of intelligence (DRI) arrested a passenger attempting to smuggle UK and Australian currencies worth Rs 13.39 lakhs.

The arrested has been identified as Nizamuddin Abdul Khader, resident of Kalnadu in Palakkad district, Kerala.

They also seized ,900 UK pounds and 5,800 Australian dollars total valued at Rs 13.39 lakhs in Indian currency, hidden in Nizamuddin’s trolley bag.

The passenger has been arrived from Dubai by Air India Express flight IX 813 on Thursday night.     *Further investigations are on.*
