Udupi: Rural postal workers strike enters 4th Day

Udupi; Feb 22: The indefinite hunger strike under the aegis of ‘All India Postal Employees’, demanding to meet the various demands of the employees is now entered the 4th Day.

This indefinite hunger strike, being organized since last Tuesday by postal employees of all India level urging to meet their long outstanding demands in front of post offices.

In Udupi too, rural postal employees were on protest since Feb 18, demanding to create 7th pay commission, informed working committee president B.Vijaya Nari and Secretary K.C.Annappa.

The protestors further said that they have not been treated as central government employees, not made permanent, unscientific policy on compassion based works, no recommendation for promotion to rural postal employees after fixed specified period based on past recommendation, no increase in basic salary, pressure of point based works on BPM employees etc are all will have an adverse impact on rural postal employees future, it said.

In today’s strike president Basava Billawa,Nagaraja Shetty,Diwakara Shetty,Kaup,Vaikunta Aithal,Sastana,Santhosh Madhyastha Kota,Kiran Parkala,Raghavendra Kundapur,Meera Thottam,Poornima,Snehalata,Hemantha Kumar and among others were participated.
