Puttur, Feb 19: Officials from Puttur Forest Vigilance Squad arrested a man from Alape, Padil on the charges of illegally transporting deer skin.
The arrested is identified as Shivaprasad Shetty, who had purchased the deer skin at Munishwaranagar in Bangalore and was transporting to Uppinangady. The officials have also seized the deer skin from the arrested.
The raid operation was led by Puttur Forest Vigilance Squad Sub-Inspector Umesh Uppalike.
The arrested has been handed over to Uppinangady police for further investigation.
