Mangalore, Feb 19: Two outstanding young Mangalorean Karate champions have bagged eight medals in the All India Open Karate Championship held in Vishakhapatnam.
Saloni Poojari, student of Amrita Vidyalaya five gold medals in kumite (40-45 kg category), individual kata, team kata, weapon and rotation team kumite events.
While, Sweekrath Salian of BGS Education Centre, Kavoor bagged three medals including gold medals in team kata and kumite (40-45 kg) and silver in individual Kata (12-16 years category).
Both are being coached at the Bharathiya Vidyabhavan Institute of Karate and Allied Arts.
