Mangalore, Feb 13: Former MLA and chief of the Karavali Jeevanadi Netravathi Raksha Samithi Vijaykumar Shetty said that in order to render support to the movement launched by the Samithi against the implementation of the Yettinahole project, the students unions of various colleges of the city will boycott their classes and organize a protest march from Jyothi circle to DC office on February 22 at 10 am.
Addressing the press meet held on February 12, Wednesday, he said that the samithi is facing lack of supporters, hence the samithi need the support of every person to fight for this cause. The samithi was protesting in peace till date, but further it will hold huge movement regarding this issue and pressurize the government to drop the project.
He also said that four MLAs from the district are also in support of the movement and had also taken part in a protest organized in Bangalore recently. The samithi had trusted our government, but in the cabinet meeting they did consider the Yettinahole project, he said.
M G Hegde, Denis D’Silva, Shashiraj Hegde, Sahaj Rai, Chandravarma Jain, Tejasvi Naik and others were present.
