Prakash murder case: Three accused including Juvenile surrender

Mangalore, Feb 12: Three main accused in the murder case of Prakash surrendered themselves before the police on Feb 12, Wednesday.

The surrendered are identified as Sharan alias Tea Sharan (24) from Kodikere, Raghunath (42) of Kulshekhar, currently residing in MSEZ Colony in Kodikere and a juvenile. While the fourth accused is still absconding.

It is recalled that gang of four had stopped a bus at Suratkal, dragged out Prakash (23), a native of Andhra Pradesh, the accused in the murder of Shivaraj in July 2012 and was killed near NITK, Suratkal on February 4 afternoon.

According to the police, the surrendered accused have confessed their crime to take revenge for the murder of Shivaraj at Kodikere near Kulai on the night of July 19, 2012. They also revealed that they were planning to kill him from a year.

The modern technology initiated by the police department to trace the murderers has forced the accused to surrender themselves.

The search operation and the investigation was conducted by deputy commissioner of police, Jagadish, Pabambur assistant commissioner of police, Ravikumar, Suratkal station house officer, M A Nataraj, Mulky station in-charge, Valentine D’Souza and team under the guidance of city police commissioner R Hitendra.
