Karkala; Feb 04: After inaugurating the ‘women’s awareness’programme organized by women’s welfare unit in Karkala Bhuvanendra college, ASP Annamalai K, IPS said in his address that today the abuse of women in the country is taking its different form. Women’s dress is not the reason. This is occurring due to various acts of perversion of the mind. In the elimination of this, women’s role is prominent and only through them it is possible to bring changes, he said
He further said that women have got the freedom of their own. They should be capable of building their own lives by coming out of their regulations, rules and traditions. In politics, administration and in public service commission’s fields, participation of women is necessary. If women by creating their own principles, courageously and with self confidence and by ignoring all the fears, anxieties, fight against the exploitation, it is possible to bring changes in the future, he said.
In the programme P.U.College’s principal Prof.Y.Panduranga Nayak presided over the programme.Dr.Shakuntala,convener of the women welfare unit after welcoming the guests, delivered an introductory speech.Sarita D’Souza,history lecturer proposed vote of thanks.Kannada lecturer Vanita Shetty compered the programme.
