Asha Jyothi Trust organizes ‘Special Mela’ for special children

Mangalore, Feb 3: Asha Jyothi Trust, a sister organization by Seva Bharathi Trust, Mangalore organized a ‘Special Mela’ differently abled citizens at Canara School ground, Dongerkeri on February 2, Sunday.

DC A.B. Ibrahim presided over the programme and said that organizing such kind of programme is the best job. No job surpasses the purity and piety of this task. Asha Jyothi is moving in right direction” he said.

D.M. Mujumdar, general manager of Corporation Bank was the chief guest.

The programme was organized with the purpose to entertain the differently abled people and make them feel good.

Specialist doctors from various streams including lady doctors, psychiatrists, eye specialists, ENT specialists and physiotherapists held free sessions with the participants.

S. Mukundh Kamath, partner of Ideal Ice cream parlour flagged off the procession of physical and mentally challenged children carried out from Loyola Hall of Aloysius College.

Cultural programme was organized to entertain the children and various game kits, food items, ice creams were distributed. A mock drill was also held from fire personnel’s, on the occasion.

Asha Jyothi president B Srinivas Rao welcomed the gathering. Savithri S Rao compered the programme. Secretary Dr v Muralidhar Nayak proposed vote of thanks.

More than 1500 special children from 300 institution participate in the event.
