Kundapur; Jan 30: Kirimanjeshwara Village panchayat’s BJP supported members alleged that police and sub-divisional officers were held responsible for disturbance, delay and attack during Tuesday’s Kirimanjeshwara village panchayat’s no confidence motion against president and vice president.
Speaking in the press conference, members have alleged that when 13 member groups of people went to participate freely in proposed no confidence motion on Jan 28, Tuesday against panchayat president and vice president, did not allow us to participate by putting us under confinement.
During the period police and revenue officers without providing protection, behaved like mute spectators and this behavior has been highly condemned by the members and in this regard on Jan 28,Tuesday night only, complaint was lodged at DC s office.
What happened on that Day?
Panchayat members Eshwara Devadiga and Shekara Kharvi have informed complete matters to press reporters in press conference as follows:
On Jan 01, we, 14 members collectively submitted a letter of no confidence meticulously to sub-divisional officer stating of our no confidence against Kirimanjeshwara village panchayat president and vice president. Accordingly date was fixed for motion of no confidence on Jan 28, Tuesday after noon at 3.00pm .In this regard, all the panchayat members have received the notice asking them to be present personally. Out of 19 members of panchayat, 13 members necessity was there for majority. Accordingly Vijaya.G.Kharvi,Shekara Kharvi, Eshwara Devadiga,Dinesh Poojary,Raju Devadiga,Vishalakshi Mogaveera,Jee Jee Sara,Naresh.V.K,Manjunatha P,Lalitha Kharvi,Poornima,Leela Poojary and Madhava Mendon went together sharp at stipulated time. But there, village panchayat’s president Subbanna and along with hundreds of people prevented us from entering and put us under confinement for 45 minutes in front of police and authorities. In spite of all these barriers, she could reach but in the pretext of 1 minute delay, she was denied an opportunity and thus became the cold blooded murder of democracy, they alleged.
While speaking in the press conference Naveenchandra said in his speech that though it was our right to vote in the democratic system, members of the president by forcibly prevented us and committed atrocities. Though A.C was present, sari of one of the panchayat members was torn in front of police officials and made her remain in her under garments. But authorities kept quiet and with this they insulted and assailed our democracy system, they alleged

Speaking on the occasion, Leela Poojary, who after tolerating insult inflicted on her, screamed with authorities to give her a chance to vote but deceived her by snatching her constitutional right to vote, she told helplessly.
Political evil intention-cry for justice
This incident is politically motivated and behind this, there were powerful hands involved. An appeal has been submitted to state governor, Election commission, women commission, women and children welfare minister seeking justice for the incident of Jan 28, Tuesday.It is informed in the meeting that 8 elected congress supported members have resigned from the party. An appeal was made to DC to provide justice under judicial jurisdiction to the Tuesday’s incident and he promised to review within two days time.
13 village panchayat’s members, who have been identified in president and vice president’s opposition faction, were present in the press conference.
