Karkala;Jan 27: Inaugurating the free eye check up camp, free distribution of spectacles and eye treatment programme in memory of Rotarian Dr.P.S.Shreenivas Rao and on account of Netaji Subhaschandra Bose’s 117th birthday celebration, organized jointly by senior citizens platform,Mudradi,rotary club,Udupi rotary clubs force, held on Jan 23,Thursday in Mudradi M.N.D.S.M.high school Hebri,Dr.Girija, Manipal rotary club’s doctor said in her speech that through eye donation, life of the blinds will become brightened.
While speaking as chief guest in the programme Ambathanaya, litterateur, lauded the achievements of donor Diwakar.N.Shetty, who has been holding free eye check camp by engaging himself in social activities for the past 20 years.
Divakar.N.Shetty, president of senior citizen’s Vedhike presided over the function and advised the citizens to avail the benefits of the camp.
Dr.Shaila,KMC physician, Ramakrishna Acharya,president Hebri rotary group force, Rotarian Shailaja Rao,entrepreneurs like Prakash Alva,Seetharama Shetty,Ashok Kumar Shetty,Dr.M.S.Rao,Senior citizen’s platform’s secretary Ganapati Mudradi and among others were present.
Indira Bayari, chief lecturer welcomed, P.V.Anand hosted the programme and Chandrashekara proposed vote of thanks.
Before the programme, homage was paid by placing the flower garland on to the statue of Netaji in Mudradi circle and came to school in procession. Approximately 190 people benefitted from the camp, it said.
