Udupi: Inauguration of the National Seminar

Udupi; Jan 25:  After inaugurating the two day’s ‘national seminar on western Ghat’s plant biodiversity and its sustainable management’, jointly organized by Udupi MGM College’s Botany department and UGC in MGM College’s new Raveendra Mantap Dr.G.R.Nayak, Dean, Department of Bio-technology and Science and Technology, Gulbarga University, said in his address that if, the current rate of population and consumption of resources continue  in the world, by around 2040, there might  be a need of another land on the earth (mother earth) to mankind.

Presiding over the function, Dr.T.Pullayya of Anantapura’s Shree Krishnadevaraya University spoke about India’s heterogeneities of life and its protection.

Dr.Ullas Kamath, Dean of Manipal’s Maleka Manipal Medical College Bio-Technology has released the seminar’s commemorative issue.

Dr.Harish Bhat, of Indian Institute of science centre’s Ecological science delivered a speech about the challenges of plant’s life in Western Ghats

Dr.K.G.Bhat, retired HOD of botany department, PPC, Dr.P.K.Rajagopal, retired HOD of botany division, GM College were on the dais.

Dr.N.Hala Nayak, principal MGM College welcomed the guests, Usharani.S.Kulkarni, convener of Vichara Sankeerana delivered an introductory speech. Suprita.M.Rao proposed vote of thanks.Anita.R.Shenoy hosted the programmes.
