Karkala; Jan 23: In the recent days, in the wake of increasing power connections in Karkala taluk, the need of the electric meter station has also been increased. Therefore legislator V.Sunil Kumar has appealed to the energy minister D.K.Shiva Kumar to open one power meter outlet in Karkala.
Though there are two MESCOM’s sub-stations one in Karkala and another in Hebri,as all types development activities are increasing, the consumers who are applying for power connections and other consumers have to go far places like district centre’s Udupi division to buy power metre by wasting their precious time and money. It will be in-convenience for both consumers and power contractors.
In this regard Karnataka Government’s licensed power contractor’s Sangha, ® Bangalore’s Udupi district unit has already submitted a memorandum but no measure has been taken so far.In the backdrop of this for the convenience of Karkala taluk’s clients, legislator has submitted a memorandum to start electric meter outlet immediately in Karkala, it said.
