Udupi; Jan 21: Addressing the protestors in the protest rally organized by Udupi district CPM committee on Jan 20, Monday in Udupi bus stand in front of clock tower K. Shankar, CPM district secretary, said in his address that Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, who created disturbance with his provocative speech in Dakshina Kannada should be immediately arrested along with others and strict action should be taken against them.
He also demanded that the prices of cooking gas, autogas, petrol, diesel, those have been increased recently by central government should be brought back to the original level and by reducing the local and sale tax of the by-products of the oil, government should come forward to help the public, who have already been burdened by the existing price increase of the daily essential commodities.
They also demanded for the strict action against Savarnier, who attacked and excommunicated Dalits and SC/ST community, under atrocities prevention act and immediate withdrawal of false/fake case registered against Dalits by joining hands with the delinquents by the police and victims of the attacks should be adequately compensated.
In the protest, CPM prominent leaders like Balakrishna Shetty, Vishwanatha Rai, Vittala Poojary, Dogu Suvarna, Suresh Kallagar, Sanjeeva Nayak, Raju Kundapur, Vidhyaraj and among others were present.
