Udupi; Jan 20: After presenting the district Yuva Prashasthi award in the inaugural ceremony of Udupi district level ‘Yuvajana Mela’ held on Jan 18, Saturday at Belman, Abhayachandra Jain, minister for youth welfare and fisheries said in his speech that in seven places of the state already synthetic stadium is there, likewise we are planning to build synthetic stadiums in all the 30 districts, he said.
He also said that it is being contemplated to appoint physical instructors or those who are interested in sports/games and to fill through deputation.
Continuing his speech, he said that Rs 47 lac grant-in-aid has been given for the construction of Indoor stadium in Udupi and decided to build Swimming pool in Udupi and Karkala, he added.
Vinaya Kumar Sorake,minister for urban development and district in charge said in his presidential speech that Yuvaka,Yuvaki mandalies should grown in the direction of society’s progress and from different languages, cultures and arts development is possible, he said.
District Yuva award was presented to Yellur Yuvaka Mandala,Karkala Nakre Chetan Friend’s club,Karkala and Male Gangolli’s Dr.B.Ambedkar Yuvaka Mandali and individual awards have been presented to Madhusudhan Acharya,Bhagvan Malpe,Narayana Poojary,Ravi Kumar,Sudhakara Acharya.
Jayarama Acharya, district Rajyotsava award winner, Remidiya D’Souza.stage artist Prasanna Shetty Bailur were felicitated on the occasion.
Legislator V.Sunil Kumar presided over the function.District panchayat president Upendra Nayak, former MLA Gopala Bhandary, Belman government P.U.college Principal Dr.B.Janardhan Bhat, Udupi district Yuvajana Vokkota’s President Manohar Kundar, Dharmasthala Gramaabhivriddhi yojane’s Vasudeva Nayak were present.Dr.Roshan Kumar Shetty welcomed.
