Udupi: Udupi district panchayat monthly KDP meet; officials taken for task by district panchayat president.

Udupi; Jan 17: Udupi district panchayat president Upendra Nayak expressed his deep concern over the delay in identifying the places for houses in Kundpaur taluk’s Kaalaavar village panchayat and Shankarnarayana village panchayat limit.

Presiding over the KDP meet, which was organized in Manipal district’s complex’s district panchayat auditorium, he  said that administrative officers at least, if they work on identified places with great interest, it would help to reach government programmes to the people at right time, he said.

Addressing the meet, S.A.Prabhakara Sharma, CEO said that though every time it was being told to attend the meeting fully prepared with all the required informations, he warned the officials who attended the meeting without proper informations.

Vice president Mamata.R.Shetty and education and health standing committee president Ganapati.T.Shriyan said in their speech that in order to deliver houses to eligible benefactors in the district proper survey has to be conducted, they said.With regard to Deemed forest, Ranger has informed that all the problems pertaining to forest will be solved very shortly as government has been intimated in this regard.

CEO has explained the advantage of selecting benefactors and on the basis of demands re-comparison. Main purpose of the government is to deliver the houses to the actual benefactors under accommodation programme reserved for SC/ST, said CEO.

Chief planning officer Vijaya Kumar Shetty said in his speech that under Indira Avaz programme, it has been decided to aim for 1765 programmes in the district in year 2013-14 and therefore all the administrative officers have been told to involve actively in order finishing the housing projects within stipulated time period.

He further said that for scheduled cast family in Udupi taluk 179, for Kundapur 146 and for Karkala 127, a total of 452 projects have been aimed at and for Scheduled tribes in Udupi 164, Kundapur 120, Karkala 104, a total of 388projects have been decided. He suggested to finish all the last year’s housing programmes progresses.

According to 19th animal census, a total of 2, 62,151 cattles were documented. Out of these, for 2, 39,800 cattles have been given vaccine for foot and mouth disease, said deputy director of veterinary department.He also said that KMF has helped at the time of vaccination for foot and mouth disease and during surey period. Compensation has been extended for the cattles died due to foot and mouth disease.

Deputy Director of horticulture department has said that 8836 people have been given compensation, who have been affected due to Areca nut decaying disease.

Toilets to toilets people: By March, we are aiming to build 15,000 toilets and in the first week of February in Amasebail along with awareness programme in order to make the district well equipped with toilets, with the co-operation of everybody, district panchayat has decided to hold one inauguration function, he said.

The purpose of having toilets will be informed to the people, who do not possess toilets. A revolutionary type of programme will be held for the construction of the toilets with the co-operation of Rotary, JC, Lions club, said CEO

Pranesh Rao, joint secretary has informed that grant has been released for the opening of biological gas plant and hence all the administrative officers have been asked to submit the list of beneficiaries’ immediately. Rs 21 lac grants has been released, therefore by receiving old balance, asked the concerned officers to send the new list.
