Kundapur: ANF constable shot himself to death.

Kundapur; Jan 14: In an incident, wherein an anti-naxal force constable (ANF), was shot himself to death, was reported on Jan 13, Monday night.

The deceased has been identified as Albert D’Souza, aged 38, son of Adam D’souza, a resident of Puttur and was unmarried.

According to the sources, he was working with Anti-Naxal-Force (ANF) for the last eight years and was posted in ANF camp at Amasebail.

 He had resumed his duty after vacation on January 12, Sunday. He was to be get betrothed on January 24, to a girl from Madikeri, who is working as a nurse in Bangalore.

It was also said that he was a good natured man and hardworking. But on Monday at around 11.30 pm in the night allegedly shot himself with self-loaded rifle to death with no apparent reason to believe.

On the night of the incident, he seemd to be normal and even called home to speak to his family, it said. However sources said that there was some altercation with his ‘would be wife’, (fiancée) with whom reportedly spoken over the phone on Monday night.

The autopsy was done in Wenlock hospital.

A case was registered in this regard in Amasebail police station and investigation is in progress.
