Mangalore / Udupi, Jan 14: Inspite of Rahul Gandhi’s strict guidelines of age and past track records and Harsha Moily’s attempt to acquire ticket from Mangalore Lok Sabha seat, the congress party revealed that only senior congress leader Janardhan Poojary’s name was recommended for Mangalore seat even at the age of 76 to prove his political strength in DK. Poojary is all set to get the ticket, if no major entrance is done by others.

Similarly, J P Hegde has emerged as the only recommendation from Udupi-Chikmaglur constituency after his tremendous victory against Sunil Kumar of BJP in the 2012 bypoll.

Congress candidates in the twin districts have helped bag their respective seats to face the tougher challenge since all political parties have swung into special canvassing mode for LS election, while the candidate of Aam Admi Party cannot be wiped out easily.

Out of the 11 candidates from 11 constituencies in Karnataka, the name of only one candidate has been finalized, unless Rahul Gandhi exercises his ‘veto’ power to other candidates.

The expected candidates are Janardhan Poojary from Mangalore constituency, J P Hegde from Udupi – Chikmaglur, M Veerappa Moily from Chikkaballapur, Mallikarjuna Kharge from Gulbarga, Dharam Singh from Bidar, H Vishwanath from Mysore, Druvnarayan from Chamarajnagar, Ramya from Mandya, D K Suresh from Bangalore Rural, H Muniappa from Kolar and N Y Hanumanthappa from Bellary.
