Udupi: Aid to Udupi Rangabhoomi building; assurance from minister Sorake

Udupi;Jan 06: Participating in the 34th state level drama competition’s presentation ceremony organized  on behalf of Udupi Rangabhoomi by Udupi RRC in association with MGM College,Kannada culture department in college’s Muddanna Mantap on Jan 05,Sunday,Vinaya Kumar Sorake,minister for urban development and district-in-charge said in his address that in order to provide aid for the construction of Udupi Ranga Bhoomi Sanghatane building, the letter has already been written to Smt.Umashree,minister for Kannada and culture. He also said that after reviewing the progress of the work, the measure will be taken for releasing the grant, he said.

On the occasion, senior literateur and stage critic G.K.Aithal has been felicitated by presenting him with ‘Sahitya Ranga Vibhooshana’award. Ranga Bhoomi’s ‘Kalanjali’ commemorative magazine has been released on the occasion by the minister. Prizes have been distributed to the winners of various games.

Ananthakrishna, President of Karnataka bank has presided over the function.Dr.N.Hala Nayak, principal of the college spoke in the programme in his capacity as chief guest.

U.Upendra, vice president of Ranga Bhoomi, U.Damodar were present on the dais.

Tallur Shivarama Shetty, Rangabhoomi president, welcomed the gathering, general secretary Vasudeva Rao compered the programme.

Then, the first winner in the competition Byndoor Lavanya team has staged ‘Marana Mridanga’for the second time on the occasion.
