Mangalore, April 13: CPM member Vasantha Achari, being the first candidate to file nominations from Mangalore south Assembly constituency on April 12, Firday.

Achari, resident of Kilenjaru, near Kuppepadavu is an aluminus of SDM Law College, Mangalore and claimed that he does not any assets in his name but his wife Kusumavathi has some ancestral property in her name, he clarified.

Supporters of Achari took him to office of the election officer at MCC in a procession.

Speaking to media persons Achari said in his speech that people have fed up with misrule and corruption in BJP and they are only self centric and not for the welfare of the neither people nor state. This is the time to teach them a lesson, he said.

CPM city secretary Sunil Kumar Bajal said senior party leader Krishnappa will contest from Mangalore constituency and B M Bhat from Belthangadi.

Harsh Gupta-DC asked CPM workers to vacate the premise after filing nominations as workers are not allowed to enter the filing centre at surrounding of 100 metres.

CPM party’s main leaders B.Madhav, Sunil Kumara Bajal, Balakrishna Shetty, Krishnappa Konchady, Muneer Katipalla,and Dayananda Shetty among others were present.
