Karkala; Dec 31: In the jurisdiction of Karkala taluk’s Shirlalu village panchayat, various amenities distribution programme was held on Dec 28, Saturday in Ganapati Sabha Bhavan.
After inaugurating the variety amenities distribution programme, legislator V.Sunil Kumar said in his address that enough of grant-in-aid has been released for Shirlalu Panchayat jurisdiction regions and from the Naxal affected region’s development fund, Rs 12 lakh grant will be released for solving the problem of drinking water.Rs 60 lakh has already been sanctioned for the application of tar on Shirlalu-Miyyar road and work of the same will be started soon, he said.
Panchayat president Narayana Shetty has presided over the function. Around 350 beneficiaries have been distributed ration cards, cheques, letter of ownership of houses etc.
Taluk panchayt member Sujith Shetty and panchayat members were present. Secretary Papanna welcomed, member Smt.Lalitha Jain proposed vote of thanks and Vinod Kumar Jain compered the programme.
