Mangalore, Dec 16: Malavalli Shanker, State Convenor of the Dalita Sangharsha Samithi has urged the District Administration to immediately release the fund of Rs 4.5 crores by the government for the Ambedkhar Bhavan at Urvastores in Mangalore.
Speaking to reporters here on December 15, Sunday, he said the project has been in the indeterminate state for quite a long time.
He also brief the problems of several municipal workers or Paura Karmikas who have been working since several years on a temporary basis and urged for the immediate regularisation of their services.
Another demand placed forth by him was to sanction lands reserved for the Dalits under the Land Reforms Act to the rightful beneficiaries. He also pointed out that much of the lands have been either encroached by other people or acquired by Forest Department.
