Mangalore, Dec. 5: Demanding to increase the facilities giving to the labours under the Akshara Dasoha project, the labours of Akshara Dasoha with the initiation of CITU district unit staged protest infront of the Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat on Thursday, Dec. 5.
Speaking on the occassion CITU district president Balakrishna Shetty said that the govt has implemented the project Akshara Dasoha in 2001. But after implementing they neglected the labours, the govt didn’t give any needed facilities to the labours. Giving low salary and do not give any protect to the life of the labours. Regarding to this the workers of Bangalore doing…. strike, so supporting to them today we protesting here he added.
The demands of the Akshara Dasoha are the govt should give at least Rs.10,000 salary , the Akshara Dasoha programme should not be privatisation, now already the government gave the contract to Iscon and made the 40,000 labours jobless. So the govt should take strict action on this.
CITU district vice president Rohini B Shetty, secretary Vasanthachary, other leaders Padma Shetty, Radha Moodbodri, Bhavya Gurupur and others take part in the protest.
