Kundapur; Dec 03: An annual Lakshadeepotsava and car festival was celebrated in Kundeshwara temple with great splendor on Dec 02, Monday. Thousands of devotees flocked into the temple to have God’s darshana.Throughout interior and exterior of the enclosure of the temple a row of oil-lamps were placed and which was enjoyed by the devotees.
The Deepotsava which started in the evening, continued till next morning, is the uniqueness, specialty of this celebration. The entire Kundapur market was decorated with illuminated lights on account of the festival. The Bhajan and dance programme, which was organized in the premises of temple, has lured the minds of devotees.
Thereafter after finishing Rangapooja, Mahamangalaarathi and Lakshadeepotsava, it was around 10.30 pm, God’s idol decked with flower decoration was taken in procession in chariot to Kundapur market, Bobbaryakatte, Hangalore and performed more than 20 Kattepoojas and by the time it returns to temple it was early morning.
In the procession as a special attraction, there was Dollu Kunitha, Chendevadhana, Keelu Kudure, Thattiraya, horns, trumpets, folksongs and other various cultural activities have been organized. Besides variety cultural entertainments arranged by different organizations and fireworks display attracted and lured heart and minds of thousands of devotees.
