Karkala: ‘Kodamanithaya’ deity’s traditional buffalo’s race in Shivapura Yelagoli

Karkala; Nov 30: Historically famous Shivapura Yelagoli traditional ‘Kodamanithaya’ deity’s buffalo’s race was held on Nov 28, Thursday.

The buffaloes, which are competing in the race, were being brought in procession to deity’s temple along with orchestra, trumpet blowing and drum beating and offered prayers over there and then they were taken back to the race field. At the end of buffalo’s race, pooja was performed on Kodamanithaya’s Bakyar stone in order to conclude the buffalo’s race.

Chief Guest of the Kambala, enterpreuner Udaya shetty distributed the prizes to Manjunatha Kulal, his buffaloes came first and Krishnayya Achary, his buffaloes came second.

Kambala-3

Kalappa Shetty, trustee member of the temple, Kalu Shetty, Sanjeeva Shetty, Janardhana Acharya, shyamaraya Acharya, Vasu Shetty, Thimmappa Acharya, Hebbagilumane Ramanna Shetty, Kunjalu Sadananda Acharya and among others were present.
