Mangalore, April 7: Well known stage actor, director, choreographer and a cine artist Macchendranatha Pandeshwara, aged 78, has left heavenly abode due to heart attack at his house. He has left behind his daughter and several other well wishers.
It is said that Macchendranath has conceived and produced more than 100 Kannada-Tulu dramas.”Counsellor Kogganne” had proved to be one of his best dramas and gained more laurels. His ‘Porthukanthnd’ drama had appeared in silver screen under the title ‘Dhaaredha Budedhi.
It has been reported that ‘Thelpere Kalpi,Satya Sayyand,Ajjina Gowji,Bolpugu bale,Thudar thelthnda,Mokedha Magaleg ,Kusalda Kandane,Mande Arvadhana,Mundas Thammalena etc have been placed under more successful and famous dramas .
Besides he had also written’Yamalokadalli Miss Moonlight’,’Naa Saayalaare’’Maathrbhoomigagi Madivevu’ and’Devdas’’ and released 15 albums to his credit.
Along with his stage programmes, he had also rendered his service in Tulu movies as well. He had written story, script, dialogues, songs and lyrics for’Dhaaredha seere’’Pettaayi Pili”,’Badhkere Budle’.
He had also composed songs for ‘Bhaagyavanthedhi and Thudar’cinema and acted in cinemas like Dhaaredha Seere, Thudar and Badhkere Budle’.
He had bagged many awards like’Karnataka Naataka Academy award in 1998, Tulu Saahitya Academy award in 2001 and Dakshina Kannada Zilla Rajyotsava award in 2008.He had served as founder member of “Tulu Naataka Kalavidhara Vokkoota” for six years besides being served as a member of “Tulu Sahitya Academy”from 2004 to 2008.
