Mangalore, Nov. 20: Kanakadasa is a philosophical who gave good message to the society through his keerthan. He is the social reformer who gave message that all the people in the society should live together without any discrimination said state fisheries minister Abhaychandra Jain.
After inaugurating the Kanakadasa Jayanthi organized by Dakshina Kannada district administration in association with kannada and samskriti ilake and Karavali Kuruba’s association at Town Hall on Nov. 20 Wednesday.
The government implemented various projects for the development of Kuruba’s. And also announced government holiday for Kanakadasa Jayanthi and gave permission to celebrate it in district level Jain said.
In our district Kuruba people are in less number but from various part of the state they came to here to work. And also I am happy to say that the Kuruba convention also will held in D.K he said.
Zilla Panchayath chief executive Tulasi Maddineni, MLA Moiddin Bhava, ZP member Yashwanthi Alwa, kannada and samskriti ilake assistant director Chandrahas Rai, Vishweshwaraiha Engineering College vice chancellor K. E. Prakash, The president of Kuruba association Ravi Kumar, Vice president Basavaraj Kenguru, treasurer Chandru, secretary Basavaraj, ZP secretary L.P. Umesh and deputy DC Dayanand were present.
Prior to the stage programme Kanakadasa’s portrait was taken to Town hall by procession.
