Mangalore, Nov. 19: The 55th Half Yearly meeting of the Town Official Language Implementation Committee (TOLIC), Mangalore was held at the Corporate Office of Corporation Bank on 19th November 2013.
The Meeting was chaired by B. K. Srivastav, Executive Director of Corporation Bank.
In his address, B.K.Srivastav, exhorted the member organization to achieve the targets laid down in the Annual Programme on Official Language Implementation issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Official Language. He opined that use of Hindi and Indian languages is essential for any organization to reach out to masses. He highlighted the role of Heads of Organisations in motivating the staff members in implementation of official language. He underlined the need to focus on training the employees to acquaint them with the facilities available to work in Hindi on Computers.
S. R. Bansal, Chairman & Managing Director, Corporation Bank and Chairman of the Committee r conveyed message that, “When we do our official work in Hindi, we, on the one hand comply with the Government guidelines in this regard, whereas on the other hand, it also helps us to reach out to the masses and also helps to the cause of national unity.”
Rajendra Kumar Sharma, Dy. Director (Implementation), Regional Implementation Office, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India reviewed the quarterly progress reports on Official Language implementation submitted by the member organizations and guided them regarding various statutory provisions in respect of implementation of Official Language.
Dr. Jayanti Prasad Nautiyal, Member Secretary of the Committee & Assistant General Manager, Corporation Bank in his address gave a brief on the latest developments in the field of official language implementation and proposed a vote of thanks.
