Karkala; Nov 18: A special and unique symposium (Sudhigosti) was held on Nov 17, Sunday in Hebri. Residents of Hutturke by calling media friends held a meeting in Hutturke resident Subramanya Herale’s residence and alleging each other about drinking water problem.
Chara Hutturke residents expressed their unhappiness on Nov 17, Sunday over the incomplete projects of multi-village drinking project and mini drinking water project, which started under rural mini irrigation project two years ago. They alleged that these two projects are not being properly benefitted for the residents of the village.
The residents have alleged that though government is spending crores of rupees on rural drinking water project in Chara, Hutturke vicinity, water is still not coming. This “why” question should be answered by local institutions and elected representatives, demanded villagers.
They further said that as far as drinking water issue is concerned, don’t play dirty politics on it, definitely you will not be progressed, they added. In between, in Hebri panchayat limit, though drinking water is not coming, the drinking water bill is coming for four-five months regularly, they alleged
On behalf of villagers who raised voices are Shanta Poojarthy,Laxmi Kumbarthi,Sumati Shedthi,Gulabi,Subramanya Herale,H.K.Shridhar Shetty,Kerebettu Sanjeeva Shetty,Shivaprasad Shetty,Mohandas Madival and among others have warned the institutions and representatives to step down from the post,in case you cannot supply the drinking water properly, we will show you, how that has to be supplied and if the drinking water problems is not being rectified and regularized within one month, a massive protest will be staged in front of panchayat,they warned.
