Mangalore, Nov 17: The year 2013 which marks the 10th year of Alva’s Nudisiri and 20th year of Alva’s Virasat, is a special year when the two historic events will be amalgamated and Alva’s Vishwa Nudisiri Virasat -2013 will be held from December 19 to 22 at Vidyagiri in Moodabidri.
Speaking about the same, Dr Mohan Alva, Chairman of Alva’s Education and Cultural Foundation during the preparatory meet in Mangalore on Saturday Nov. 16 said that the events have grown to what it is only due to the efforts of the volunteers.
At least 50,000 artistes and writers are expected to take part in the event, Dr Alva said and added a minimum of two lakh participants are also likely to witness the programme one each day.
Arrangements for the grand event are underway in a 100 acre venue where seven stages will be put up. A total of 55 committees are also formed for the success of the event.
He further said that a cultural team of Alva’s Foundation comprising of 250 members has started cultural shows in Mumbai and in a month’s time they will stage shows all over India as part of Vishwa Virasat.
Addressing the gathering MLA J R Lobo said that Alvas Nudisiri and Virasat is nothing less than a festivity for the residents of Moodabidri.
