Postcard revolution against anti-superstition bill by VHP and BD

Mangalore, Nov 17: Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal organized a joint press meet on anti superstition bill.

M B Puranik, VHP regional working president said that the anti-superstition bill is drafted unscientifically and focused mainly on the religious beliefs of the Hindu community, and would be strongly opposed.

Hindu religious leaders, thinkers and scholars conducted a meeting regarding to this and they decided to oppose the anti-superstition bill because it affects the fundamental right of religious freedom of citizens in the country he added.

He further said that the bill goes against the constitution and hurts the sentiments and beliefs of the Hindu community. In the coming days, the society will come together and oppose it unitedly, he said.

He said that the organisations had formed ‘Dharmika Swatantrya Samrakshana Samiti’ in order to oppose the anti-superstition bill. We will not allow the bill to pass in the winter session of the Legislative Assembly”, he said.

A postcard revolution and demonstration will be undertaken in the future, he added, urging the Governor of Karnataka to withdraw the bill.

Local VHP leaders Dr P Ananthkrishna Bhat and Kateel Dinesh Pai, local leader of Bajrang Dal Sharan Pumpwell and others were present.
