Udupi;Nov 16: Under the auspices of Consumer Vedhike zilla consumer information centre,’ Face to Face’ programme was arranged between CMC president Yuvaraj Puttur and vice president Amratha Krishna Murthy on Nov 16,Saturday in Zilla consumer’s information centre.
H.Shantaraj Aithal, consumer Vedhike alleged that underground drainage system has become scattered and no action has been taken yet against contractors. In reply to this question president Yuvaraj said that Rs 5 crore for underground drainage works and under irrigation project Rs 30 crore grant-in-aid has been received and measures will be taken in the coming days, he said.
R.L.Dias, president of railway travelers Sangha complained that Manipal-Parkala road still not repaired and width of the road should be increased. By rectifying humps, zebra cross track should be put in white colours otherwise accidents will keep on happening. In reply to this Amratha Krishna Murthy said that this should be done by road safety samiti through district commissioner’s office.
Altaf Ahmed alleged that in recent days number of cut-outs, banners has been increased, even after the expiry period, banners will remain as it is without removing and those banners should be removed as early as possible. In reply president said that normally 15 days permission is given but more than that stipulated period, banners will remain. When the permission for 10 banners is given, 15 banners will come. Henceforth period of the banners and contact number of the party, who put banners will be recorded, he said.
One Mr Ramachandra mentioned in anguish about the condition of the manholes and some manholes have been kept open and put stone slab on it.
Another man Nataraja Deekshit alleged that in Dhoddanna Gudde, bye-lane of the 9th main road has gone and 100 metre road is there as it is. In reply to this, president said that after paying visit to the site, we will respond.
Responding to the question raised by Shantaram Aithal with regard to damaged pipeline near old post office, president said in reply that during the time of coming Paryaya, new pipeline will be laid, he said.
