Karkala; Nov 11: Now the speculations are milling around, whether former president’s Dr A P J Abdul Kalam is genuinely the supporter of BJP’s proposed PM Candidate Narendra Modi or just his image has been used a political gimmick just for propaganda without his knowledge.
Banners, cutouts projecting Narendra Modi as the next prime minister are dangling all over the state and picture of former president Dr A P Abdul Kalam has raised suspicion among the people, whether he actually supports Narendra Modi or simply a political stunt?
In a press release, human rights activist H K Sridhar Shetty of Hebri has raised this issue.
According to the release, no political party has got the right to use the picture of presidents and former presidents for their political mileage as they are not the properties of political parties to use them as a political tool for gaining popularity.
The BJP-Supported Namo Brigade has displayed the pictures of Dr Kalam in its banner as a part of its election campaign, which created much anxiety and curiosity among the people and which is contradictory, said Sridhar Shetty.
