Udupi;Nov 03: After inaugurating the “Monthly excitement of literary of writing” jointly organized by Kannada Sahitya Parishath,district unit and rotary Udupi on Nov 01,Friday in Vibhudeshatheertha auditorium,Dr.Madhavi Bhandary,principal,Udupi PPC evening college said in her address that now Kannada medium schools have become poor people’s school. Before stopping its breath organizations like rotary clubs, associations must extend their helping hand. They have to become lifesaving herb, she said.
Continuing her address, she said that love for other languages bound to be there but the method of using it as medium is apprehensive. Therefore in order to save Kannada,instead of becoming emotional, it is better to be non-emotional, she added.
She also said that by proclaiming the prominence of Kannada to the students, we have to create awareness amongst children about love towards Kannada, she opined
While speaking Shantaraj Aithal, president of Udupi Suhasam Sanghatane said that we have to create an atmosphere in such a way that children should proudly say that we are studying in Kannada medium.
Neelavara Surendra Adiga, president of district Kannada Sahitya parishath, who presided over the programme, has prepared the list of programmes, planned for the saving and protection of Kannada.
Ambathanaya Mudrady, former president of district KSP, B.C.Rao, Karkala taluk president, B.V.Laxminarayana, president, rotary Udupi, entrepreneur Ramesh Rao Beedu, District KSP honorary secretary Suralu Narayana Madi and V.Rangappa Holla were present.
KSP Kundapur taluk president Narayana Kharvi welcomed the members, Rotary joint secretary Anantharama Ballal proposed vote of thanks. Secretary Subramanya Basri compered the programme.The programme was concluded with poet’s conference.
