Mangalore, Nov.2: By reading Kannada literature and newspaper we should try to protect and develop the language said Saxophone artist Kadri Gopalnath.
He inaugurated the cultural programme organised by Kannada and Samskriti Ilake, Kannada Sahitya Parishath and Public Instructor Department regarding to Kannada Rajyotsava at Town Hall.
He further said that there were many newspapers and magazines in other languages. The peoples proud on the language and their support is the main reason for this. Compare to this the number of newspaper less n Kannada. For the growth of the language newspaper the number of readers should be increase he added.
Kadri Gopalnath was felicitated in the occasion.
The president of district Kannada Sahitya Parishath Pradeep Kumar Kalkura presided over the function.The vice secretary of ZP N.R. Umesh, District education instructor Moses Jayashekar,education officer Lokesh, the assistant director of Kannada and Samshriti ilake Chandrahas Rai, Kannada Sahitya Parishat Taluk president Vijayalakshmi B. Shetty, Nagesh Bappanadu, Mahammad Baduru, B.S. Hasanabba, Roopakala Alva were present.
The student achievers in the different fields were felicitated in the occasion. Cultural programmes also held.
