District Congress Committee Observes Death Anniversary of Indira Gandhi

Mangalore, Oct 31: The District Congress Committee (DCC) observes 29th death anniversary of former Prime Minister of India late Indira Gandhi, at District Congress office on Thursday, October 31.


Minister for forest, environment and ecology and district in-charge B Ramanath Rai offered the floral tribute to the portrait of Indira Gandhi.

Then he said that Indira Gandhi was the best leader of this nation. Today all over India observes the death anniversary of Indira Gandi. She is the person who put mile stone for the social reform. We all should go forward in the path which she put forward he added.


 During her tenure as a Prime Minister of this nation, she introduced many projects like green revolution and nationalization of banks among others. She made this country compete with other developed countries, he said.


 Indira Gandi gave the largest energy to Congress. In her 18 years administrative period she implemented many programme for the development of the country and the people like Abolition of slave system, sites for the poor,  , independent program, pension for widows, pension for disabled, pension for the age olds etc. And also she opposed the zamindari system, the capitalist system. By this she made India as real independent country he added.


 Interim District President of the Congress party Ibrahim Kodijal, former MLA Vijay Kumar Shetty, senior vice president B H Khader Bantwal, Congress Secvadal president H M Ashraf, general secretary Sadshiv Ullal, Women’s Congress president Mamatha Gatty, Kripa Alva, vice president Appi, Yashavanthi Alva and many others were present.
