Bantwal Oct. 31: Demanding for a CBI probe into Sowjanya rape and murder case has people of Bantwal protested on October 31, Thursday, in front of the Taluk Office at BC Road.
With the initiation of Bantwal Taluk Nyayapara Horata Samithi the protesters demanded that the government entrusted the case to the CBI soon.
The police are failed to catch the real culprit. It shows that they are trying to protest the criminals. Only an impartial CBI probe can deliver justice, they said. A demand was also placed forth to probe the over 500 cases of unnatural deaths of young men and women in Dharmasthala area
Lokesh Shanthi, President of the Samithi, Keshav Naik,chief secretary Kanchalakshi, Sridhar Amin, Bhanuchandra Krishnapura, Prabhakar Daivagudde, Honnappa Kundar, Krishna Allippade, B.Shekar, Suresh and others spoke on the occasion.
Ashwitha a student in an emotionally said Sowjanya’s soul can rest in peace only when the truth is exposed.
The protestors shouted slogans against the Police Department and the Government. They also submitted memorandum to the Governor through Tahsildar Malleswami.
Representatives of various organizations and college students participated in the protest in large numbers.
