Udupi: Govt follows anti-farmers approach; Complete Varahi project soon-urges BJP district farmer’s morcha

Udupi;Oct 28 : BJP district farmer’s morcha staged a protest on Oct 28, Monday , near service bus stand clock tower condemning the anti-farmer’s approach by both state and union government.

Demands of district farmer’s morcha:-

  1. UPA govt should waive the loans of the farmers in nationalized banks
  2. Govt should approve a loan of Rs 5 lac with interest to the farmers of state and central
  3. Immediately revert back the recently increased price of the fertilizer.
  4. Legalize  through Sakrama the developed agricultural land below 5 acres by the farmers and issue letter of ownership
  5.  No suitable project has been implemented for the damage caused due to excessive rain and drought (less rain).Therefore those who have been affected due to excessive rains should be given a compensation of Rs 15,000 per acre.
  6. Appropriate measure should be taken for the loss incurred due to wild animals nuisance after discussing with the concerned authorities.
  7. NAFCD, wich is under the control of central government, is not in the state. Compensation of Rs 50,000 per acre should be given to the areca nut farmers, who have suffered due to decaying disease. Farmers should also get reasonable, encouraging rate should be fixed for Kopra.
  8. Since the paddy rate has been fallen, a minimum encouraging rate of Rs 2200/-to be fixed
  9. State government should take measure for the approval of Kumki rights
  10. To obtain loans from Sahakari bank, measures should be taken. The amount of Rs 25, 000, which was passed by the previous BJP government vide loan waiver, should be given immediately.
  11. For the foot and mouth disease affected cattles, no effect of injection. Those have been given injection will be conceived and give less milk. Government has not implemented any project for this.
  12. The owners of the cattles, who have been affected due to foot and mouth disease, should be compensated suitably. So far nobody was given compensation. Immediately compensation should be given. Cow slaughtering is being taking place extensively everywhere. Cow protection and slaughtering act should be implemented immediately. A compensation of Rs 25000 per cow should be given to the owners of cows; those have died due to foot and mouth disease.
  13. Varahi projected should be completed immediately for the farmers.
