Karkala; Oct 24: An incident of committing suicide by a man out of frustration by hanging to the tree due to heavy drinking habit has been reported at Mundkur Mulladka village.
The deceased has been identified as Praveen Abrave, aged 31, son of P.John Abrave, resident of Durgamane in Mundkur Mulladka village of Karkala taluk.
According to the sources unfortunate Praveen was a habitual drinker and addicted to alcohol. He was admitted in Kinnigoli Concepta hospital and Father Muller’s alcohol rehabilitation centre, Mangalore for treatment 7-8 times earlier to this incident. But he could not give up his drinking habit and physically also became very weak.
Out of frustration, Praveen has committed suicide on Oct 21, Monday by hanging himself to the tree in neighbor Denis Cardozo’s forest, sources said.
John Abrave has registered a complaint in Karkala rural police station in this regard.
