Udupi; Oct 16: The procession of worshipped Sharada Devi of Laxmivenkatesh temple took place on Oct 15, Tuesday.In this Shobhayatre extraordinary and exceptional tableaus were being used.
After worshipping Sharada Devi for nine days, Shobhayathre was launched at 06.30 pm in the evening. After the city’s procession was over, immersion ceremony of Sharada Devi idol was held at 03.45 am in the early morning in the Padma Lake of the temple.
After installing the Sharada Devi idol in the out yard of the temple for public view, in the proximity of Devi, saluting the flag was performed. Thereafter at 08.00 pm in the night glorious procession has been started. In this procession, Chende sets of Konchady comprising of 60 people has given an added more entertainment to the Shobhayatre. Besides the still (motionless) pictures with historical creativity, created by Purushothama Shetty lured the minds and hearts of the people.
Mobile orchestra tableau of Amratha Shenoy has increased the glitter of an entertainment. Orchestra programme organized at Chittaranjan circle was a feast to watch.
In the Shobhayatre there were various historical still pictures, instruments sets, Nasik bands etc have been participated. Prime roads in Udupi have been illuminated with decorative lights. Here and there plenty of fire crackers have been busted.
More than ten thousand devotees have viewed the beauty of Laxmivenkatesh Sharada Devi’s Shobhayatre and had Devi’s Darshana.
Temple’s administrative executive P.V.Shenoy,Shree Devadas Shanbhag,Rohitaksha Padiyar,Pundalika Kamat,Amratha Shenoy,Raghavendra Kini,Subramanya Pai,Ganesh Kini,Purushotham Shetty,Dr.M.R.Pai,Shantiprasad Kudva,CMC’s new president Yuvaraj,Pramodh Madhwaraj,MLA,Yashpal Suvarna,Ajith Kudva,Mattar Ganesh Kini,Dr.Damodar Pai and temple’s management committee members,GSB community members and volunteers and general public have participated in this procession.
After decorating with different colored flowers Laxmivenkatesh temple’s Sharada Devi was made to sit in palanquin and was taken in procession in the prime localities. A new brass peacock was the highlight of the shobhayatre this time.
Padma Lake, Devi was made to sit on specially made boat and five rounds of ceremony were held.
At last, along with the chorus singing of patriotic song Vandhe Maataram, Devi has been immersed in Padma Lake at 03.45 am in the early morning.
