Udupi; Oct 11: After inaugurating the district level monthly review meeting of Karnataka developments programme, held on Oct 11, Friday, at district panchayat auditorium, Upendra Nayak, president of district panchayat said in his address that if required number of scheduled caste benefactors under government’s accommodation project are not available in the gram panchayt, the gram panchayat should make an adjustment with other gram panchayat in the same taluk, for the allotment of the accommodation, where benefactors numbers are more.
He further said that in some gram panchayat, demands for the accommodation programme is more, where as in other gram panchayat, demands may be less. Under the circumstance at taluk level, both taluk panchayat and district panchayat directors by making an agreement between them, ensure that more benefactors should avail the benefits of government’s accommodation project, he added
Further, with regard to the proposed construction of Labour welfare Bhavan by the labour Udupi labour department, he directed the concerned authorities to expedite the procedural work and to identify the land for the construction of the building. There should be more awareness amongst building laborers about the availability of building labor’s insurance, medical facilities and other benefits, he informed to labor department’s officials.
He also informed to horticulture department to disburse the compensation immediately sanctioned for the district for areca nut rotten disease affected farmers. After getting information about the construction of Udupi KSRTC bus stand, he directed the concerned authorities to discuss with PWD department for the land acquisition immediately.
Besides, GP president also instructed KSRTC depot manager to take necessary action about the plying of KSRTC Volvo between Udupi-Kollur and Udupi-Dharmasthala.
