Mangalore, Oct.4: A well-known Kannada writer, social worker and environmentalist Dr. Na D’ Souza is awarded with Professional Excellence Award.
He has been Central Literature Academy with the Bala Sahitya award for children’s literature for the year 2011 for his mini novel “Mulugadeya Oorige Bandavaru”. He also credited with Karnataka Rajyotsava Award, Sandesha Sahitya Prashasti, Karnataka Sahitya Academy Prashasti, Sha Mu Sha Prashasti, Katha Prashasti and also honored with Honorary Doctorate for his literary work from Kuvempu University.
He has contributed immensely to Kannada literature during the last 3 decades through 45 novels, 4 plays, 7 poetry books and 25 children’s novels besides various short stories.
Karantha Award to D’Souza:
The writer Na D’Souza also will honor by Karanta Award. He will go to receive that award 112th Birth Anniversary celebration of Dr. Shivaram Karanth, the programme is organizing by Dakshina Kannada Sahitya Parishath andKalkura Pratistana.
The programme will held at Town Hall here on October 10th Thursday.
