Mangalore, Oct 2: As part of Gandhi Jayanthi celebrations, Lions Club International organised ‘Rang Barse’, a day-long painting exhibition of several renowned artists at Lions Seva Mandir at Mallikatte here on Wednesday, Oct.2.
Lions Governor of District 317D K C Prabhu inaugurated the Gandhi Jayanthi programme and the painting exhibition.
The former-chief security officer of Manipal Group Col Prem Kumar Shetty said that teachings of Mahatma Gandhi were relevant in the society even today. Then he spoke about the patriotism of the soldiers who served for our country,
The exhibition includes over 70 sketches and paintings by various artists such as Surya Achar Vittla (dot painting sketches), Anil Devadiga, Dinesh Holla, Syed Asif Ali, Harish Kodialbail, A S Jeevan, Permude Mohan Kumar, Rajendra Kedige, Reshma Shetty, Santhosh Andrade and Veena Srinivas.
Lions District cultural co-ordinator Jnaneshwari S Joshi presided over the programme.
President of Karavali Chitrakala Chavadi Vishnu Shevgoor and the office-bearers of Lions Club International were present during the event.
