Kundapur; Oct 01: It has been reported on Sept 30, Monday evening that in a tragic accident involving two buses and bike, nine people were injured and one of the injured is said to be in serious condition.
Injured bike-rider has been identified as Soojadi Nagaraja Shetty,a resident of Hunsemakki,teacher by profession.
Sources said that a private bus, which was plying towards Udupi from Kundapur new bus stand, stopped all of a sudden to pick up a passenger from a spot, where the driver was not supposed to halt. Due to this, another bus, which was coming from behind rammed into it from the rear end and in turn, was hit by a bike, which was behind.
The bus, which rammed into the first bus, was heading towards Noojady and bike rider was on his way to home at Bidalkatte.
The nine passengers of the private bus, who were injured, have been admitted to local private hospital for treatment.
The injured have been identified as Haklady Shreekara,aged 18,Ravikala,aged 18,Swetha,aged 16,Gopala,aged 26,Sharada,aged 31,Sanjeeva,aged 36,Savita,aged 23,Vinaya Devadiga,aged 25-all residents of Soojady.
The local bus which was heading towards Soojady from Kundapur.The people and students from Soojady-Haklady limit were travelling in the bus at the time of accident. Seriously injured bike-rider is undergoing treatment in private hospital and rests of the injured have been admitted in two hospitals for treatment.
Due to the impact of the accident, front portion of the bus has damaged.
A case in this regard has been registered in Kundapur Police station.
