Mangalore, Sep 30: One person died and six others sustained injuries after a lorry overturned on road near Mangalore University at Konaje on the outskirts of the city here on Sunday September 29.
The deceased has been identified as Ram Breksahani (37), a native of Bihar .Abdul Majeed, Devanand, Ram Lala Sahani, Kanaja Sahani, Ganor Sahani, and Umesh Sahani were the injured.
The lorry was plying from Malar towards Thokkottu via Konaje. While passing through a steep road near Konaje University, the driver lost control over the vehicle resulting in the accident.
Seven persons, who were in the lorry, including the driver, were stuck inside. Later the locals shifted the lorry to another spot and rescued the injured. However, the cleaner died on the spot.
The injured were shifted to a hospital in Deralakatte. A case has been registered in Konaje police station.
