Udupi; Sept 27: First quarterly meeting of Udupi district level bank’s review samiti was held on Sept 27, Friday at taluk panchayat auditorium under the presidentship of chief director S.A.Prabhakar Sharma.
Subramanian R, deputy general manager has presented the facts and figure of the banks progress in the review meeting. He informed that by the end of June 2014, banks in the district should reach the target of Rs 12,225 crore in deposits and Rs 6003 crore in advances.
He further said that banks in the district have registered annual growth of 15.60 % in deposits and 17.43% in advances. The ratio between the deposits and loans is 49.93% for the period closing at June 2013 and there is a need to increase the same during the coming year end.
While speaking he said that one of the mighty ambitious projects of state bank and reserve bank’s addition of money programme,business related problems should be discussed with dealing representative banks and find out the solutions, he added.
NABARD, deputy general manager Prasad Rao has reviewed the implementation of district advance project and expressed his appreciation for the achievement of crossing the target by 39.64%. Still banks need to achieve in industrial and priorities fields and there is still the scope of increasing the ratio of deposit/loan against the increase of 39.64% reported this current year end, he added
Besides, he insisted for the increase in the business in all the fields by working hard in the remaining months of 2013-2014 by adopting new work strategies.
A. Vijay Kumar, Indian reserve bank has informed about different circulars of Indian reserve bank, relating to bank activities. In order to increase deposit/loan ratio as reported in the sub committee’s report, still you need to take suitable measures.
