Sullia, Sep 18: An old man of 70 years who stayed alone in his house at an isolated place at Uppukala , Balugodu has been found murdered on Tuesday September 17.
The deceased has been identified as Parameshwar Gowda. After he lost his wife 14 years ago he was living alone at Uppukala. Among his 2 children his daughter is married and his sonstays at Kaikamba.
Parameshwar Gowda’s body was found tied down and his mouth gagged. Ganapayya who assist Parameshwar in his plantation informed it to Subramanya police soon after he found the body of Gowda lying in the pool of blood.
A dog squad and fingerprint experts were also called. . Police suspect the assailants searched for cash and valuables. Based on wounds and marks visible on the body, the police said that Parmeshwar’s hands and feet were tied up and he was gagged before being brutally murdered.
A sickle though was found in the farm, Ganapayya said it did not belong to the deceased.
Senior police officials visited the spot. Investigations are in progress.
