Karkala; Sept 18: After inaugurating the “Information rights act awareness under 2005 act programme” on Sept 17, Tuesday organized by Catholic Sabha Samiti, Karkala zone at local Christ king Sabha Bhavan, Fr John A Barboza, local church priest said in his speech that Government is announcing various projects, schemes for the benefits of the citizens but due to lack of proper knowledge about the same, people are not availing the benefits of the facilities.
He further said that to know the fact, about the tax we are paying to the government, where it goes, how it is being spent, how it is being misused, by spending indiscriminately on unwanted projects, ‘Information rights act’ is very useful, he conveyed the message.
Vincent D’Mello, Information rights act’s official of Theerthahalli taluk in Shimoga district, arrived as human resource officer has explained to the audience in detail about how to avail the benefits of information rights act.
