Udupi; Sept 14: Addressing the press reporters in the press meet held at Pathrika Bhavan on Sept 14, Saturday, Madvesh Tantry-Divan (an administrative officer) said in his address that as per the wishes of Paryaya Vishwavallabhatheertha Swamiji (Seer), it has been decided to hold “National level folk song Kalavaibhava”programme at Shree Krishna Mutt premises from Sep 25-29.
This programme has been arranged to highlight the rich prowess of our country’s heterogeneity of the art. Folksong artists from all parts of the country exhibit their respective places culture in the programme, he said.
24 folksong teams from 20 states will perform at one go under one roof in Udupi.The purpose of holding this programme is to educate the youth of today and create awareness about the rich heritage of Indian culture amongst them, he added
Further he said, this programme will run between Sep 25 to Sept 29 under the caption “National folksong Kalavaibhava” at Rajangana.It is expected that more than 500 folksong artists will participate in this historical programme. Prior to the commencement of the programme all the folksong artists will take part in the procession state-wise from Jodukatte and then join in the inauguration function.
During five days programme, which start at 5.00 pm to 10 pm, all the artists will exhibit their art of skill.
Assam’s Bihu dance, Nagaland’s Bombu Kunitha,Manipura’s Krishnana Raasaleele,classical,Rajasthan’s Bhaviya Go Gommar and kal belia tribal dance,Orissa’s Gotepoova Nritya,Chattisgad’s Jodi Shank Nritya,Jarkand’s Sambalpuri dance,Madhyapradesh’s Bedari dance, Maharashtra’s lavani dance,Gujrat’s Danida dance and Siddigoma dance,Andhrapradesh’s Kumbhakoya and lambani dances etc will be exhibited during the occasion.
