Mangalore, Sept.13: The ASHA( Accredited social health activist) karyakatha ( volunteers ) will get matching grants from state government as same as the payment given to them under the Rastriya Gramina Abhiyan project of central government. The matter is already discussed with CM, said Health and family welfare minister U.T. Kadher.
The problems of Asha Volunteer in a training programme organized by Zilla Panchayath at Samarthya Souda were also talked over.
On this occasion U.T. Kadher said that ASHA volunteer is the project of central government, so state government can’t take any further steps on the problems of workers. He agreed that the problem is the remuneration given to the workers is low.
He further said that under the Vajapeyi Arogya Shri Project Rs. 200 will given to the ASHA Volunteers who find and send the patients to the hospital and Rs 100 in addition will given to them if they bring the patients from SC and ST group. And also he said that he will soon make a new rule to come out of the IPL card problem. It will be easier if the problems are given in written with the related department.
